Alpha-ID focuses on solutions to long standing issues that afflict most organisations, ranging from "I can't find the overhead projector and key clients will arrive any minute", to "I left my laptop on the train and there are highly sensitive files stored on the hard-drive".

Alpha-ID was originally owned by ReTech Electronics Ltd, an electronics design consultancy, with a deserved reputation for design excellence, especially in ultra-low power telemetry products.

The division Alpha-ID was introduced in 2003 to enable ReTech to become a specialist supplier of innovative wireless solutions for the rapidly expanding RFID market. Later that year the division was subject to a MBO by Richard Smith, Business Development Director and formerly Market Analyst for Innovision plc. ReTech has a minority shareholding in the new company.

Alpha-ID will continue to focus on its core business of specifying, supplying and commissioning systems for the protection and tracking of data, documents, assets and people using wireless products from leading manufacturers.

The Company is now technology agnostic and a full member of AIM UK, the industry association for automatic identification and mobile data capture systems.
